Description	:	The deceased Christian Gottlieb Hahn, son of Gottlob Hahn and his wife, Jacobine Katharina Ketzler was born on the 2nd of August in the year 1853 in Bessarabia in the colony of Lichtental where he was also baptized on the 16th of August 1853. He was later confirmed in the Crimea in Neusatz. He immigrated to the United States in the year 1874 and remained in Ohio 3 years and then came to South Dakota and settled on a homestead in Bon Homme County about 12 miles from Tripp. He was united in holy wedlock with Anna Maria Zoller... Read More	The deceased Christian Gottlieb Hahn, son of Gottlob Hahn and his wife, Jacobine Katharina Ketzler was born on the 2nd of August in the year 1853 in Bessarabia in the colony of Lichtental where he was also baptized on the 16th of August 1853. He was later confirmed in the Crimea in Neusatz. He immigrated to the United States in the year 1874 and remained in Ohio 3 years and then came to South Dakota and settled on a homestead in Bon Homme County about 12 miles from Tripp. He was united in holy wedlock with Anna Maria Zoller on March 7th in the year 1881. This union was blessed with 11 children, 5 of whom have preceded the father into eternity. In the year 1888 he bought a farm 2 miles south of Tripp and lived there until his retirement from farming in 1926 when he moved to Tripp where he had since resided. He was one of the founders of Zion congregation in the country and was a member of this Emmaus congregation. Last year in May he had the misfortune to fracture his hip which he had recovered fairly well. On Sunday, Feb. 25th, a sudden weakness overcame him and increased from day to day until he fell asleep on Thursday, March 8th at 3:30 in the afternoon. He reached the age of 91 years, 6 months and 6 days. He leaves to mourn his death, the sorrowing widow, 5 sons, Christian, William, Emanuel, Henry and Gottlieb and one daughter, Mrs. Otto Winckler; 17 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, as well as many other relatives and friends. Interment was made in the Zion Church Cemetery in the country. “Lord now lettest Thou thy servant depart in peace for mine eyes have seen Thy salvation.” Services were conducted by Rev. J. R. Sheppard.
