Description	:	Christian Rush, second son of Jacob (Rosch) and Rachel (Link) Rush was born in Peru, Ind. On January 23, 1868. He passed away at his home in Upland, after a long lingering illness, on Friday evening, December 9, at 7:30 o'clock at the age of 81 years, 10 months, and 16 days. He passed away at his home in Upland, after a long lingering illness, on Friday evening, December 9, at 7:30 o'clock at the age of 81 years, 10 months, and 16 days. At the age of 16 years he moved to Nebraska with his parents. On September 15, 1892 he was united in marriage to Miss Florence Morris. To this union two children, Gladys and Lloyd were born. They went to housekeeping on a farm northwest of Macon. They moved from there to Osco and them to their farm northeast of Upland where they lived until they moved to the present home in Upland in 1941. He united with the Methodist church when a young man and lived a Christian life till he was called to his heavenly home. He was treasurer of the Hill Top school board for over 30 years and was always interested in community and church affairs. Those attending the services from out of town were: Mrs. Will Anderson, Mrs. Tilda Danielson, Mrs. Lena Monson, Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Olson, Mr. and Mrs. Lathon Olson, Miss Fern Danielson, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Jameson, Mrs. Gussie Jameson, Mrs. Henry Hansen, Mrs. Roy Pearson, and Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Nelson, all of Minden; Mr. and Mrs. Ray Morris of Omaha, Mrs. Leotha Sullivan of Chicago, Ill., Hugh Gray and Mrs. Will Gray of Oxford, Mr. and Mrs. Malter Frederickson and daughter of Kearney, Mr. and Mrs. Emmanuel Ibsen of Atlanta, Mr. and Mrs. Everett Stroberg of Axtel, Mrs. L. Feis of Franklin, Mr. and Mrs. Hessy King and Mrs. Charles Diederich and daughter of Campbell, Mr. and Mrs. Milford Swedlund of Trumbull and Mr. and Mrs. Ray Shields of Hildreth. He is survived by his wife, two children, Mrs. Gladys Jameson of Upland and Lloyd Rush of Axtell, and by five grandchildren, and five great grandchildren. He is also survived by two sisters, Lizzie Corey of Franklin and Mrs. Emma Diederich of Campbell, seven nieces and nephews, and a host of friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and one sister. He was a kind and loving husband and father and a good neighbor, honored and respected by all who knew him. Funeral services were held in the Upland Methodist church at 2 p.m. on Tuesday with the Rev. Lloyd V. Mohnkern officiating assisted by the Rev. C. E. Spore. A quartet composed of Mrs. Lars Ibsen, Mrs. Harold Damgaard. Dr. J. Palmer and Walter Nielsen accompanied by Mrs. Elmer Bunger sang, "Precious Memories", "Ivory Palaces" and "Rock of Ages". The pallbearers were Harvey Smith, O. W. Benson, E. R. Smith, Charles Hultgren, Arthur Swedlund and Oscar Gray. Internment was made in Upland Cemetery.
