Description	:	Mrs. Mads Jensen Dies Thursday; Funeral Sunday Mrs. Mads Jensen, a partial invalid the greater part of her life and bedfast eight months, died at the Herbert Kruse home, northeast of Creighton, about 10 o'clock Thursday evening. Death was attributed to apoplexy and arteriosclerosis. Funeral services were held Sunday morning at 9 o'clock at the Bethesda Danish Lutheran church in Winnetoon, with the church pastor, the Rev. Mrs. Jennie Marie Jensen, nee Hansen, was born in Store-Hedinge, Sjaelland, Denmark, October 28, 1860, and passed away peacefully at the home of her granddaughter, Mrs. Herbert Kruse, on July 23, 1936 at the age of 75 years, eight months and 25 days. Mrs. Jensen emigrated to America in 1870 and made her home with relatives at Marshalltown, Iowa. In 1887 she was united in marriage to Mads A. Jensen in Antelope county and they made their home on a timber claim northeast of Winnetoon for 40 years. She lived a year with her daughter, Mrs. Nina Andersen, near Winnetoon, and eight years with another daughter, Mrs. Olga Jones, at Rose, Nebraska. She and her husband returned to this community eight months ago. She leaves to mourn her passing, her husband, Mads A. Jensen; four sons (one preceded her in death at the age of seven) and two daughters; Albert of Omaha; Walter and Nels of Princeton, Minn. and Harry of Denver, Colorado; Mrs. Olga Jones of Rose, Nebraska and Mrs. Nina Andersen, Winnetoon. Other relatives are two sisters, Mrs. Lena Gould of Plainview and Mrs. Anna Armbrecht of Marshalltown, Iowa and a brother, Henry Hansen, living in Missouri; twenty grandchildren and one great grandchild. A host of friends also mourn the passing of Mrs. Jensen, who bore her suffering down through the years uncomplainingly and who rose above the seemingly insurmountable odds of physical affliction to capably fill the roll of both wife and mother. ...The Creighton News 30 July 1936
