The Rev. James Mattson officiated at the services. Mrs. Luke, Wyoming, died Aug. 20 at the Crestridge Nursing Home in Maquoketa. She was born in Germany on April 19, 1891, the daughter of Henry and Anna Boysen Henningsen. She received her education in Germany before coming to the United States in 1912. In 1912, she married Herman Petersen and lived in the Nora Springs area until moving to Jones County in 1971. Mr. Petersen died in 1928. In 1932, she married Edward Luke. The couple lived in Wyoming from that time on. Mr. Luke died in 1976 but Mrs. Luke continued to live in Wyoming until recently, when failing health forced her to move to the nursing home. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church of Wyoming. Surviving her are two sons, Henry Petersen of Wyoming and Martin Petersen of Sioux Falls, SD; two daughters, Mrs. Anna Fields of Delmar and Mrs. Marie Harding of Camanche; 18 grandchildren, 52 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren. Preceding her in death were her husbands and nine brothers and sisters.
