GOTTLIEB FIECHTNER Funeral services were held in St. Paul's Lutheran church in Java Thursday, April 12 for Mrs. Gottlieb Fiechtner, 65, who passed away Sunday morning at the Mobridge hospital after a lingering illness with cancer. Interment was made in the Java Lutheran cemetery. Christina Fiechtner nee Naasz was born February 16, 1886, in Hoffnungstal, South Russia, and came to this country with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. George Naasz Sr., on May 05, 1893. The family settled on a farm near in Java. She received instruction in the Christian faith and was confirmed in the Lutheran church on March 31, 1901, by the Reverend F Braun. On April 04, 1907, she was united in marriage to Gottlieb Fiechtner in the Hoffnungstal Lutheran church near java. They made their home on a farm near Java for many years and in 1931 moved to Java where they have since resided. About ten years ago she underwent a serious operation and seemed to recover her health. However, the malady returned and she underwent another operation several years ago. Since then she had continued to fail and spent most of the past two years in bed. On January 14, 1951, she was taken to the Mobridge hospital to be under constant medical care so that her suffering might be eased as much as possible. On Saturday, April 07, her condition became critical and on Sunday morning, April 08, at 7:30 o'clock she passed away at the age of 65 years, two months and 22 days. She is survvied by her husband; three sons, Albert and Emil of Miles City, Montana, and Gary of Los Angeles, California; one daughter, Erna (Elmer) Schlepp of near java; five grandchildren; four brothers, George Jr., Christ and Ed Naasz of Java, and Adolph Naasz of Mobridge; and one sister, Mrs. John Fiechtner of Mobridge. She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Magdalena Schnaible in 1947, and one brother, Ludwig in 1948. Children Emil born 1908, died September 01, 1969, in Montana, married Hilda Hirsch Albert born November 28, 1909, died July 03, 1994, in Montana, married Martha Hirsch Gary married Phyllis Simpson Erna married Elmer Schlepp
