Read More	Mother of Mrs. Josephine Ernst, John & Joseph Connot The following obituary was contributed by Rita Sporrer, from the Spencer Advocate (NE): Death Claims Another Pioneer of Boyd County Mrs. Christina Connot, one of the county's oldest residents, aged 93 years. 2 months and 13 days, died Sunday, April 6, 1924 at the home of her son John Connot, sr. of ten miles northeast of Spencer. Miss Christina Dohmen was born at Wehr, Rhein Province, Germany, January 1831, and was married in her native country to Mr. Connot in 1857. Eleven years later in 1868, Mr. Connot died, leaving the mother with three children, two boys and one daughter, John and Joe, the daughter's name which is now Mrs. John Ernst of five miles north of Spencer. When the family came to the United States in 1885, they located in Platte County, on a farm they purchased. When Boyd County was opened for settlement, Mrs. Connot, with her two sons and daughter moved from their Platte County home, locating northeast of Spencer on places homesteaded by John and Joe Connot. Mrs. Connot has lived with the families of her sons and daughter since her coming to Boyd County, and has enjoyed excellent health, with the exception of the last year when her age began to weaken her body and reduce her strength. At no time though, has Mrs. Connot been a care to those with whom she lived, but has always been of great assistance to her children, grand-children and great-grandchildren. She has made many and lasting friends where she is known and the large number of people who attended her funeral, attested to the high esteem in which she was held. Solemn Requiem High Mass was celebrated Wednesday morning, April 9, at Saint Mary's Church, for the repose of the soul. Rev. Father J. P. Griffin was celebrant and was assisted by Rev. Fathers Stahl of Butte and Blum of Baker. Burial was in Saint Mary's cemetery. The many friends in Spencer and community extended to those in bereavement their heartfelt sympathy.
