Description	:	Parent Jacob Reiber and Christine Horat (Russia) Mrs. J. F. Benzel of this city passed away at the Rockwood clinic Saturday morning, following a major operation performed on Monday of last week. The body was brought to Ritzville and the funeral was held Wednesday afternoon from the Philadelphia Congregational church, Rev. Nuetzmann preaching the service. Interment was in the Ritzville Cemetery. Elizabeth Reiber was born in Kolb, Russia on May 21, 1881 and was united in marriage to J. R. Benzel on Feb. 7, 1899. Interment was in the Ritzville Cemetery. Elizabeth Reiber was born in Kolb, Russia on May 21, 1881 and was united in marriage to J. R. Benzel on Feb. 7, 1899. They came to American in 1913 and made their home near Scottsbluff, Nebraska for a short time. Later they came to Adams county, settling on a farm three miles west of town. This continued to be their home up to two years ago when they moved to town. Mrs. Benzel had been in poor health for a number of years and she was taken to Spokane for an opertion on Sunday, January 18th. Peneumnia developed, ending in her death. Besides her husband, Mrs. Benzel leaves seven children; two daughters; Elizabeth and Mrs. Nick Schafer and five sons; Fred, Carl, Jacob, Alex and Rheinhod, in addition to four grandchildre; one brother, John Rieber, of this city, three brothers and three sisters in Russia.
