Description	:	Christine (Fleming) Weathers, 98, of Woodruff, SC, went home to be with the Lord, Friday, May 18, 2012 at White Oak Manor. A native of Greenville County, she was the daughter of the late Harston Dee and Estelle (Ford) Fleming. The widow of Marvin Walter Weathers, Sr., who passed away March 1, 2006, they had been married 76 years and 7 months. Their love of God and... Read More	Christine (Fleming) Weathers, 98, of Woodruff, SC, went home to be with the Lord, Friday, May 18, 2012 at White Oak Manor. A native of Greenville County, she was the daughter of the late Harston Dee and Estelle (Ford) Fleming. The widow of Marvin Walter Weathers, Sr., who passed away March 1, 2006, they had been married 76 years and 7 months. During this honeymoon, they shared everything from fishing to travel, having seen 48 of the 50 states at least once. They also shared their love with family, friends and anyone who would receive it. Their love of God and Knighton Chapel Wesleyan Church was greater still. Mrs. Weathers taught the Junior Sunday School Class at Knighton Chapel for over 40 years. She was also the secretary and treasury of The Ladies Missionary Society for over 40 years. She was a homemaker who kept busy quilting, crocheting, working in her garden and making dolls. Both Mr. and Mrs. Weathers served God with truth and grace, never shirking a task and ever cheerful in all circumstances. They now rest in the arms of their Savior, wishing everyone a safe journey home. Surviving are two daughters, Frances Joyce Reynolds of Woodruff and Betty Ann Tucker and her husband J. Stephens Tucker of Simpsonville; three sons, Marvin Weathers and his wife, Gertrude Burrell Weathers of Spartanburg, Billy Todd Weathers of Fountain Inn and Johnny Weathers and his wife, Jean Richards Weathers of Fountain Inn; 13 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren and numerous great-great-grandchildren. Mrs. Weathers was the oldest and last member of her immediate family. Her family consisted of Joe Agnew Fleming (killed in action in World War II), William Ford Fleming, Carol Preston Fleming, Elizabeth F. Weathers and Lucy Margaret Fleming. Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, May 22, 2012 at 2:30 PM at Knighton Chapel Wesleyan Church by Rev. Trevor Hoffman, Rev. Buster Ball and Rev. Dan Graves. Interment was in the church cemetery. Visitation was held 1:00-2:15 PM prior to the service in the church sanctuary. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Regional Hospice Home, 686 Jeff Davis Drive, Spartanburg, SC 29303 or Mobile Meals, 419 East Main Street, Spartanburg, SC 29304.
