Description	:	Christine Traywick Bivens, 87, of Norwood passed away Monday morning, March 17, 2014 at Woodhaven Court. Funeral services will be held at 2:00PM, Wednesday, March 19, 2014 at First United Methodist Church in Norwood. Rev. Doug Hochmuth will officiate and interment will follow at 3:30 in Marshville City Cemetery, Marshville, NC. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00, one hour prior to the service in the church fellowship hall. Mrs. Bivens was born November 16, 1926 in Union County to the late Bascom (JB) Traywick and Vena Baucom Traywick. Christine was a retired teacher assistant with Union County Schools. She was a faithful member of First United Methodist Church in Norwood where she was active in Sunday school and the Faithful Circle of the United Methodist Women. She loved reading, taking walks, and spending time with her family at the lake. Christine especially treasured the time she spent with her grandchildren, who were the light of her life. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Irl C. Bivens. She is survived by her children, Becky Luck and husband, Ronnie of Norwood and Irl C. Bivens, Jr. of Cornelius; three grandchildren, Christina Luck, Stephen Luck and Robert Bivens; brother Edward Traywick and wife, Sue of Marshville. The family wishes to give special thanks to her "angel on earth", Audrey Hartsell and special friend, Ella Thomas for their unconditional love and care of Christine. Memorials may be made to: Hospice of Stanly County, 960 N First Street, Albemarle, NC 28001.
