Description	:	August was the son of Nicholas August Rehder. He immigrated in 1872. He married Almina Justice Garbison on Oct 30, 1880. They were the parents of 5 children: Elmer, Alma, Delma, Clara, and Ella. Jan 6, 1931 - Carroll Daily - Funeral rites for C.A. Rehder were held this afternoon following a short service in the Arthur Sharp home on Grant Road. The body was taken to the Lutheran church where services were held. The Rev. Christopher August Rehder, son of Mr & Mrs August Rehder was born in Mildorf, Holstein, Germany, August 23, 1849. He came to the United States at the age of 21 and settled in Missouri and from there came to Iowa and located in Guthrie county. He was married to Wilhelmina Garbison Oct 30, 1880, and five children were born to this union: Elmer, who died in infancy; Mrs Arthur Sharp (Alma); Mrs Evor Morgan (Delma); Mrs Eugene Mutter (Clara) all of Carroll; and Mrs George Petersen (Ella) of Des Moines. He also leaves two step-daughters: Mrs M Goodwin of Coon Rapids and Mrs Delia Taylor of Saegertown, PA; 11 grandchildren; and two great grandchildren. Mr. Rehder spent many years on a farm near Dedham. Since the death of his wife, Feb 14, 1921, he made his home with his children in Carroll. Mr Rehder died Sunday afternoon at the age of 81. He had been ill with pnemonia in St Anthony hospital.
