Description	:	Christopher Roach was born on November 27, 1852 to James and Sarah (Shea) Roach. He was baptized on February 15, 1853 at Saint James the Less Catholic Church in Eganville, Canada. Christopher was born at Ross Township where his parents had cleared land, built a log house and barn, blacksmith shop, and a "stopping place" where travelers stopped for hot meals. Read More	Christopher Roach was born on November 27, 1852 to James and Sarah (Shea) Roach. He was baptized on February 15, 1853 at Saint James the Less Catholic Church in Eganville, Canada. Christopher was born at Ross Township where his parents had cleared land, built a log house and barn, blacksmith shop, and a "stopping place" where travelers stopped for hot meals. He was 16 when his father passed away in 1868. The family continued to work the land until 1881 when they sold their land and immigrated to the US. They arrived at Port Huron, Michigan on June 4, 1881. He and his brother Edward settled in Springer Township, Ransom County, North Dakota as pioneers. On October 30, 1890 Christopher became a naturalized citizen. Christopher died December 28, 1914 at the home of his sister-in-law, Catherine Roach, 10.5 miles northwest of Lisbon. He died of heart disease at the age of 59 years. He never married as we understand and is survived by a brother, John of Sturgeon Falls, Canada; sisters, Sarah Harris of Woodland, California and Margaret Connelly of Jamestown, North Dakota; and quite a number of nieces and nephews in Ransom County. He was engaged in farming and was a member of St Aloysius Catholic Church and died in his faith. Funeral is scheduled today at 10:30 AM from the Church. Father Fogarty is officiating as priest. Internment in St. Aloysius Catholic Cemetery. A large number of friends of the family to follow his body to its last resting place.
