Description	:	ALBANY -- Clair O. Sayers, 75, of Louisa Avenue, died at his residence Thursday morning after a brief illness. Born in Chauncey, he was the son of the late Charles and Mary Jane Tryon Sayers. Mr. Sayers attended Chauncey-Dover Schools and was a resident of Ames Twp., moving to Albany in 1986. He retired from McBee Systems where he was a member of the Quarter Century Club. Mr. Sayers was also a member of Hooper Ridge Church of Christ and a past master of Amesville Lodge 278 F&AM. Born in Chauncey, he was the son of the late Charles and Mary Jane Tryon Sayers. Mr. Sayers attended Chauncey-Dover Schools and was a resident of Ames Twp., moving to Albany in 1986. He retired from McBee Systems where he was a member of the Quarter Century Club. Mr. Sayers was also a member of Hooper Ridge Church of Christ and a past master of Amesville Lodge 278 F&AM. He was a past patron of Euphemia Chapter 200 Order of Eastern Star and a charter member of Athens Jollytime Campers. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Clara Keirns Sayers; a daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Richard Perry of Radcliff; two sons and daughters-in-law, Gary and Bernadine of Millfield, and Monty and Teresa of Groveport; a daughter-in-law, Jean Sayers of Valdosta, Ga.; 19 grandchildren, and 22 great-grandchildren. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two sons, Dave and Paul; a great-grandson, Paul J. Sayers; a brother, Byron; and a sister, Jessie Sayers. Services will be Sunday at 1 p.m. in Hooper Ridge Church of Christ with Pastor John Boyer officiating. Burial will be in Amesville Cemetery. Friends may call at Jagers and Sons Funeral Home in Athens Saturday from 2 to 9 p.m., where Amesville Masonic Lodge will conduct services at 7 p.m. (The Athens Messenger, Friday, April 6, 1990)
