Clair Richard Corbin was born on December 13, 1917 in rural Wadena, Iowa the son of Jess and Mary (Voshell) Corbin. He attended the Wadena High School at Wadena, Iowa. Clair married Agnes Mary Schaefer on July 29, 1939 at Oelwein, Iowa. Clair farmed for many years and later was a advertising salesman for Newton Advertising Co. of Newton, Iowa.
