Description	:	In 1876 George Emick and Clara Kunich were born in Tiffin, Ohio (George, February 27, Clara, December 7) where they received their education and where they were married December 12, 1895. They lived on a farm near Tiffin for 13 years before going to Birmingham, AL, by team and wagon. After living there several years they moved to Vollmer, now craigmont, Idaho where Mr. Emick's brother lived. Read More	In 1876 George Emick and Clara Kunich were born in Tiffin, Ohio (George, February 27, Clara, December 7) where they received their education and where they were married December 12, 1895. They lived on a farm near Tiffin for 13 years before going to Birmingham, AL, by team and wagon. After living there several years they moved to Vollmer, now craigmont, Idaho where Mr. Emick's brother lived. It was very good farming country but hard to lease or buy land and hearing of the Homestead rush in southeastern Montana, they had an auction sale and came to Montana in the fall of 1915 where they homesteaded on land eight miles northwest of Ekalaka. In later years raised horses, cattle, and hogs. In the poor years of drought and grasshoppers, they mined and hauled coal to Ekalaka with four horses and wagon. They had four children: Arthur, Mable, Alice, and Marvin. In 1946 they sold their ranch and went to Yellowstone Park to work summers and to Arizona winters to be with Mr. Emick's sister. They soon tired of traveling, decided to retire and bought a home in Miles City where they lived many years. Copied from THE SHIFTING SCENES book, VOL.
