Funeral services will be 3:00 p.m. Thursday in the chapel of Belk Funeral Home with interment following in Indian Branch Cemetery . Born August 3, 1925 in Darlington County, daughter of the late Albert C. Hill and Mamie Hewitt Hill, she was married to the late Cephas Howell. She attended Darlington County High School. Born August 3, 1925 in Darlington County, daughter of the late Albert C. Hill and Mamie Hewitt Hill, she was married to the late Cephas Howell. She attended Darlington County High School. "Granny" had worked many years at the A & P Grocery Store in Darlington, while also helping manage the family farming business with her husband. She loved working in her yards and canning from her garden. She especially loved the time spent with her family. Mrs. Howell was a long time member of Indian Branch United Methodist Church. Surviving are her daughter, Marilyn Howell Hare and her husband, Bill of Darlington; grandchildren: Billy (Lisa) Mozingo, Todd (Lisa) Mozingo and Bunny Mozingo; seven great-grandchildren; sister, Dottie Weatherford; sister-in-law, Margie Hill and sister-in-law, Ruth Odom. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Carolyn Howell and siblings: A.C. Hill, Heyward Hill, Ernest Hill, Keith Hill, Leila Mae Blake, Syble Ray Odom and Barbara Ann Blackmon. The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
