Funeral services were held at the Christian church, Sunday afternoon, at 2:00 o’clock, conducted by the pastor, Rev. Arthur J. Aikins, and interment was at Walnut Hill. Ecton, died at her home in the Fourth ward, Kingman, Kansas, Friday, March 25, 1921. Funeral services were held at the Christian church, Sunday afternoon, at 2:00 o’clock, conducted by the pastor, Rev. Arthur J. Aikins, and interment was at Walnut Hill. Her death came very unexpectedly. She had been up and about the day preceding, apparently in her usual health, and there was no sign of her approaching death when she retired that night. On awakening about six o’clock, Saturday her husband discovered that she was cold in death, and apparently died without a struggle. She had been afflicted with heart trouble for a number of years, and it was supposed that heart-failure was the immediate cause of her death. Clara Belle Sizelove was born in McDonough county, Illinois, March 28, 1874. On Christmas Day, 1894, she was joined in marriage with her now bereaved husband, A. F. Ecton, in Reno county, Kansas. They later came to Kingman, arriving here about seven years ago and since then have made their home here. Five children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Ecton, one dying a few years ago in this city. The surviving children are Mrs. Bernice Rittel, Bert Ecton, Mrs. Mabel Payne and Lela Ecton, all of Kingman, and who with the bereaved father are left to mourn on account of her untimely death. Out of town relatives present at the funeral were her brother, J. F. Sizelove, and her uncle J. F. Murray, both of Gate, Oklahoma; and L. P. Murray of Hunter, Oklahoma. Other relatives of the deceased are Mrs. Clint Black of this city, an aunt; her father and a brother reside in Washington, but on account of distance were unable to be present at the funeral. Deceased had been a member of the Christian church many years and there are many who will learn of her death with sincere regret.
