JOHN LANSPA Mrs. John Lanspa passed away at her home in north David City at 11:45 Tuesday, April 9th, following an illness of five days of pneumonia. Mrs. Lanspa was born on April 28th, 1866 at Salon, Iowa, to Mr. and Mrs. Frank Kessler. She was united in marriage to John Lanspa of this city and has made her home in David City since August 1927, coming here from Council Bluffs. Deceased was a member of the Royal Neighbor Lodge, and the Altar Society, also St. Mary's Church of this city. Funeral services were conducted from the church at 9:30 Thursday, by Rev. Murphy and burial was in St. Mary's cemetery. Pallbearers were Joe, Donald, Olas, William, and Clarence Lanspa, and Anthony Miller. St. Mary's children's choir sang the Mass. The surviving children were Leota Sharp of Des Moines, Iowa; Florence Kessler Solon and Frank Payne of Plattsmouth; Elsie Polk of Oshkosh; Minnie Eddleman of Council Bluffs. All the daughters of the deceased were here for the funeral and one son. Others who were here were Charley Eddleman, a son-in-law, Mrs. Clara Payne, her daughter-in-law and nephew and niece, Mr. and Mrs. Sargent; Mrs. Madge Payne, a daughter-in-law; and Russell Payne and wife, grandchildren; others here were Mr. and Mrs. Belfod of Council Bluffs; Mr. and Mrs. A. S. Miller and son, Pat; Dulah Marie and Gene Sangman of Omaha; Dr. and Mrs. Joe Lanspa with Beverly Ann and Kenneth, Maude Mandville and George Mandville of Council Bluffs. The brothers and sisters were not present at the funeral. They are: Lanes Kessler, Fanny Adams, Jennie Moore, Anna Shaffer and Lewis Kessler.
