John Amundson will officiate and burial will follow at the Sunnyslope Cemetery in Mott. Lunch will be served at the First Congregational Church in Mott, following the burial. A Family Service will be Tuesday evening at 6:00 p.m. at the church in Mott. CLARA CHRISTINE SCHMITT was born December 29, 1912 to Jacob and Albina (Bertsch) Schmitt on a farm south of Regent, ND. After her marriage to Adam Oberlander on December 26, 1932, they farmed south of Regent until 1955, when they retired and moved to Mott. Clara's "resume" may have stated that she was a full time mother to five children, a domestic engineer and a master chef, baker, gardener and seamstress as well as a helper to Adam in the farm operation. She was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church and Chilton Homemakers Club. After their move to Mott, she was a cook for the Cannonball Senior Citizens Meal Program and an Avon Sales Representative. Clara passed away at the Good Samaritan Nursing Center in Mott, on March 9, 2007. She is survived by her children and their spouses, Doris (Lester) Ross of Mesa, AZ, Arlen (Jackie) Oberlander, Dickinson, ND, Marlene (Ken) Zent, Great Falls, MT, Sherryl (Larry) Heinrich, Mesa, AZ and Rod (Laurie) Oberlander, Camarillo, CA, eight grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, numerous step-grandchildren and great grandchildren; three sisters, Emma Kamka, of Regent, Lydia and Ida Schmitt, of Bismarck, ND, one brother, Otto (LaVerne) Schmitt and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceding Clara in death were her parents, Adam, her husband of nearly 73 years, one grandson, three sisters and one brother. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Trinity Lutheran Church, the Good Samaritan Nursing Center in Mott, the Faith Lutheran Church in Regent or to a person's favorite charity.
