She was born in Horry County on October 18, 1931, the daughter of the late Walter Minton and Jessie Roberts Edwards. Clara was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. MULLINS - Clara Edwards Webster, 85, passed away peacefully Thursday, May 25, 2017 at Carolinas Hospital System of Marion. She was born in Horry County on October 18, 1931, the daughter of the late Walter Minton and Jessie Roberts Edwards. Clara was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. She exemplified this devotion through her many acts of caring and love that she showed others. She enjoyed gardening, was a wonderful cook and talented seamstress who did beautiful handwork. She worked for over thirty years as a teller, and later as an administrative assistant at Anderson Brothers Bank. Clara was predeceased in addition to her parents, by her husband, Samuel Redden Webster, Jr, her beloved daughter, Faye Hardwick Battle and two brothers. She is survived by two daughters, Joyce H. (Robert "Butch") Gardner of North Myrtle Beach and Stella H. (William "Bill") Currin of Fuquay Varina, North Carolina; 5 grandchildren; and 2 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 27, 2017 at Mullins First Baptist Church, directed by Meares Funeral Home of Mullins. Entombment will be at Red Hill Memorial Gardens. - Meares Funeral Home
