Description	:	OBITUARY: Clara Gore was born in Hamilton township, Decatur county, Iowa, on the second day of February 1866, and passed from this life to the life triumphant on Jan. 19, 1914, she lacking but a few days of being 48 years old. Many weeks ago she was taken bedfast by an attack of inflammatory rheumatism and from this disease she had steadily grown weaker and a great sufferer until Death graciously relieved her from pain. Read More	OBITUARY: Clara Gore was born in Hamilton township, Decatur county, Iowa, on the second day of February 1866, and passed from this life to the life triumphant on Jan. 19, 1914, she lacking but a few days of being 48 years old. Many weeks ago she was taken bedfast by an attack of inflammatory rheumatism and from this disease she had steadily grown weaker and a great sufferer until Death graciously relieved her from pain. Her affection has been terrible and more than flesh and blood could bear, but all through it she has borne up heroically. Practically all of Mrs. Turpen's lifetime has been spent in and around Davis City and vicinity and she is familiarly known to all. There she has been known as child, girl and woman. She was the next oldest of twelve children, born to Mr. and Mrs. Robert Gore, seven of whom with the father, are dead. Five brothers survive and mourn her loss, together with the mother, husband and sons. She was married to Henry Turpen on the 15th day of October 1882, and to this union were born ten children. Only three of whom are living, Otto, Robert and Roy. She was converted to Jesus Christ and accepted Him as her Redeemer about 18 years ago and at that time united with the Methodist church. She has been a faithful member ever since and insofar as possible has done all in her power to further the cause. She has been a good wife, a kind mother and a sympathetic neighbor and friend, and her death is truly mourned. Funeral services were held at the M. E. church, Monday afternoon at Davis City at 2:30 conducted by the pastor, Rev. E. A. Place. Internment was in the old cemetery at Davis City.
