Newspaper unknown; Darla Richardson Donovan) #2 Obituary of Clara Fesenmeyer Adams Clara Fesenmeyer was born on November 8, 1971 in the Mossville community of Mitchell County to Christina and Herman Fesenmeyer. She grew up in this community and on November 20, 1897 was married to William Adams of Brodhead, Wisconsin. After living in Wisconsin for two years, they returned to Iowa, purchasing a farm near her girlhood home, where they lived until moving into Riceville in 1946. On November 20, 1947, they celebrated their Golden Wedding anniversary. Her husband passed away December 29, 1948 and she lived on in the home until ill health forced her to enter the Riceville hospital in June of 1957. She lived at the hospital from then until August of 1962 when she was taken to the Osage Nursing Home. On January 1 of this year she entered the Mitchell County Memorial Hospital where she passed away on February 18. She and her husband belonged to the Methodist Church at Brownville, where they worked for many years, later attending the Methodist Church in Riceville. They had no children of their own, but a number of nieces and nephews, and grand nieces and nephews were always welcome in their home, as well as many other relatives and friends.
