Description	:	Clara Malsam, age 82, of Valley City, ND, died Sunday, August 7th at the Sheyenne Care Center in Valley City. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, August 12th at the Lerud Schuldt Funeral Home in Valley City. Visitation will be held from 9:00 AM until 10:00 AM on Friday morning. Clara grew up and attended school in Halliday and graduated from Halliday High School.... Inurnment will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery near Valley City. Clara Frank, the daughter of Henry and Frieda (Weidner) Frank, was born March 22, 1930 on the family farm near Halliday, ND. Clara grew up and attended school in Halliday and graduated from Halliday High School. After her graduation, Clara taught school in the Halliday School District for a time. On August 30, 1951 she married Adam Malsam in Beulah, ND. The couple moved to Valley City in 1955 where Adam worked for the Post Office and Clara worked at the Sheyenne Care Center for a short time. Clara was an excellent cook who loved to have her family over for Sunday night dinners. Clara was a member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Valley City where she also was a Sunday School Teacher. Mr. Malsam died in 2005. Clara is survived by her children, Mike (Cindi) Malsam, Dave Malsam and Lisa (Jeff) Johnson, all Valley City, ND; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; five sisters, Thelma (Arnold) Wolf, Duvall, WA, Agnes (Charles) Wasem, Sun City West, AZ, Amanda (Rob) Smith, Lacy, WA, Marion (Clifford) Ferebee, Halliday, ND and Darlene (Doug) Wisness, Puyallup, WA. Clara was preceded in death by her husband and one son, Steve.
