Browne, 83, of North Berwick, passed away on May 2, 2011, after a period of failing health, at Wentworth-Douglass Hospital in Dover, N.H., where she was lovingly cared for. She was born Sept. 17, 1927, in Howland, the daughter of the late Charles T. and Julia S. (Drew) Gould. Throughout her life she was a dedicated mother and grandmother. She was born Sept. 17, 1927, in Howland, the daughter of the late Charles T. and Julia S. (Drew) Gould. Throughout her life she was a dedicated mother and grandmother. Clara will surely be missed by those whose hearts she touched. She retired from General Electric in Somersworth, N.H. Her son, Richard B. Browne, Jr., predeceased Clara. Clara is survived by her son, Christopher Browne of Nashville, Tenn., and her four daughters, Barbara Marquis of North Berwick, Lorraine Browne of Palmer, Mass., Theresa Kirkwood of Farmington, N.H., and Erina Healey of Rochester, N.H.; eight grandchildren, Amanda Browne, Jonah and Kathryn Marquis, William, Sarah, Laura Kirkwood, Derek Cote and Drew Healey; one great-grandchild, Amilliana Marquis; and her brother, Clarence Gould of Sebec, Maine. A Memorial Service will be held on May 14, 11 a.m. at the Tasker Funeral Home, 621 Central Ave., Dover, N.H. Relatives and friends may visit one hour before the service from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. The burial will be at a later date, at the Quaker Hill Cemetery in Unity, Maine, where she will be laid to rest with her parents.
