Description	:	Lincoln Sentinel-Republican, Jan. 12, 1933 Clara Moote Baker Mrs. Clara (Haselton) Baker was born in Conway, Carrol County, N.H., Sept. 19, 1854, and died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Bert Whiteside, north of Lincoln, Jan. 2, 1933, aged 78 years, 3 months and 11 days. She moved to Iowa with her parents in the spring of 1864. She was united in marriage with Phares Moote, March 20, 1872. To this union six children were born. She moved to Iowa with her parents in the spring of 1864. She was united in marriage with Phares Moote, March 20, 1872. To this union six children were born. Two of these children died in infancy, and the husband passed away in July 1915 at LaHarpe, Kan. The children left to mourn her loss are Norman Moote of Abilene; Mrs. Mary Whiteside of Lincoln; and Walter Moote of Wallace, Kan.; also 22 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. The family lived in the Delhi community north of Lucas during the years from 1879 to 1905, where many old friends now pause in respect to her memory. While living at LaHarpe, she united with the Christian church of that place and was an active member until prevented by sickness. On May 13, 1920, she was united in marriage to Jeremiah Baker, who died Sept. 13, 1927. She lived in Ellsworth for a few years, until her last illness, during which she was tenderly cared for by her daughter, Mrs. Mary Whiteside. Funeral services were held from the Delhi church, north of Lucas, Jan. 4, in charge of Rev. Robert B. Rubart. Interment was in the Delhi Cemetery.
