GROVER CLEVE NICHOLSON IS DEAD The many relatives and friends of Mrs. Clara May Nicholson were grieved to hear of her death which occurred last Thursday morning about eight o'clock at her late home three miles west of Dannebrog after an illness of several months. She had apparently been recovering when unexpectedly a few moments before her departure, she was seized and quietly her loving spirit took flight. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. Henderson Gourley of Elba, and was born on her father's homestead, three miles east of Elba, on May 27, 1903, and died February 18, 1926, aged 22 years, 8 months and 21 days. She grew up in the Elba neighborhood and was married June 6, 1923, at Lincoln to Mr. Grover Cleve Nicholson and there resided until March 1924, when they moved to Elba, where they resided until 1925 when they moved to the farm home near Dannebrog, her late home. To their home were born two boys, James Benton, two years old and Brice Barton, 4 months old, who survive her. Her devoted husband survives and her parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Gourley, of Elba, three brothers, Floyd of Elba, Ray of Holdrege, Guy of Jacksonville, Florida, one sister, Mrs. Nina McGonegal of Staplehurst, and her grandmother, Mrs. Wm. T. Houseman (Howsman) (in her 90th year) of Elba, and other relatives and a host of sorrowing friends. She was a faithful member of the United Brethren church at Elba. She was always greatly loved by all and a patient sufferer, devoted wife and mother. Her funeral took place on Sunday with services in her late home in charge of Rev. Pedersen of Dannebrog, and the services at the U. B. church, Elba, at 2:30, in charge of the pastor, Rev. Harnish, whose text was recorded in Psalms CXVI, 15. The church was crowded beyond capacity.
