Shoemaker, and they had seven children. Clara's granddaughter has provided me with the following information: "They were divorced after 35 years. She remarried to a Herman Wilks from Knoxville, IA., and divorced, then married to George Gee. Louis never remarried and died in Arlingdton, TX in 1977." Gee Nov. 22, 1979, at Knoxville. He died in 1975. Survivors: sons Joseph Shoemaker of Woodbridge, Va., Harold Shoemaker of Candler, N.C., and Robert Shoemaker of Arlington, Texas; daughters, Louis [sic-should be Louise] Stoher of Richmond, Va., Eva of Dallas, Texas, Jean Hiatt of Fairfield Route 4 and Elly Alexander of Cherokee; and grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
