Description	:	Mrs. Herman Ortmeier passed away Saturday, Jan. 18 at 6:45 p.m. at St. Joseph's Hospital in this city . Her death was caused by heart trouble. She had been in failing health since the death of her husband three years ago and it was found necessary to take her to the hospital on New Year's Eve. She had attained the age of 53 years at the time of her death. Funeral services were held at St. Boniface Church at Monterey Wed Morning January 22. Rev. Mrs. Ortmeier was a faithful member of the Catholic Church and also a member of the Christian Mother's Sodality at St. Boniface Monterey. Mrs. Clara Maly Ortmeier was born August 6, 1876 at St. Charles. She grew up and was educated in that vicinity and was married to Herman Ortmeier January 8, 1894 by Rev. Joseph Ruesing. Fourteen children were born to this family, three dying in infancy. Those surviving to mourn the loss of their mother are Frances, Mrs. George Franzluebbers, Mary, Mrs. Louis Ulrich, Caroline, Mrs. Carl Spenner, Catherine, Mrs. Ben Franzluebbers, Clara, Theresa, Wenzel, Ida, John and Veronica at home: Sister Herman Clair of Ayshire, Iowa. the latter sister Herman Clair was called here from Ayshire, IA to the bedside of her mother and she will remain at home to tend to the household, this being the last wish of her dying mother. - West Point Republican - 30 Jan 1930
