Clara was born Dec 15, 1914 near St Edward to Henry and Johana (Schroeder) Meyer. She grew up there, helping on the farm, until she moved to Fremont to help a family with their children. Clara was born Dec 15, 1914 near St Edward to Henry and Johana (Schroeder) Meyer. She grew up there, helping on the farm, until she moved to Fremont to help a family with their children. Later she went to work at the Mead Ordinance Plant. On Oct 29, 1941, Clara was married in Fremont to Quentin Bubbert. They moved to Van Nuys, Calif. where Clara lived while Quentin completed his US Army service. Following Quentin's military service, they returned to Fremont and had lived most of the time in Inglewood. Her husband was a longtime Hormel employee, and the couple were active with Inglewood community affairs. Clara was a member of First Lutheran Church and she was an active volunteer with the Low Income Ministry. She enjoyed camping, fishing, playing cards and especially her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Quentin in June of 1999, son Melvin in Feb of 2006, two brothers and a sister. Survivors: include a son Gregory and wife Teresa Bubbert of Fremont; daughter Gloria Stark of Edgar; three grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and brother Leonard Meyer of Fremont. The funeral service will be Friday, Jan 16 in First Lutheran Church with the Rev Norman Freund and Intern Pastor Nathan Clements officiating. The committal will follow in Ridge Cemetery.
