Saturday at Pleasanton United Methodist Church. The Rev. Baldeo Singh will officiate with burial in Pleasanton Cemetery. She was born November 17, 1903, in DeMotte, Indiana, to Jelle and Jennie Westra Roorda. Clara attended school in Chicago. During her high school years, her parents moved to Thayer, Indiana, where she finished high school. Clara attended the University and taught in town for five years. On September 29, 1923, she and Charles Zimmer, a former Pleasanton resident, were married at Crown Point, Indiana. They lived in Thayer until moving to Golden, Colorado in 1939. In the early 1960's, they moved to Florence, Colorado. Here they owned and operated an A and W Restaurant for several years. She lived there until 1986, when she moved to Texas to be near her son. Her son, Charles of San Antonio, survives. She was preceded in death by her husband, who died in 1985, and a son, James.
