Description	:	Clara S. (Barker) Seatle was the eldest of 9 children born to Edwin B. and Rebecca A. (Sherman) Barker. She married in Middletown, RI October 4, 1863 Charles H. Seatle and to them two children were born. Clara and her husband remained in Middletown until 1875, at first he was engaged in farming with her father and then carpentry. By 1880 they had moved to Newport where her husband worked as a wheelwright and carriage manufacturer. Her son, Benjamin Spooner Seatle was then age 15 and daughter Augusta age 12. She married in Middletown, RI October 4, 1863 Charles H. Seatle and to them two children were born. Clara and her husband remained in Middletown until 1875, at first he was engaged in farming with her father and then carpentry. By 1880 they had moved to Newport where her husband worked as a wheelwright and carriage manufacturer. Her son, Benjamin Spooner Seatle was then age 15 and daughter Augusta age 12. After removing from Middletown to Newport, the family can be found through the years in numerous Newport telephone directories. On April 10, 1881, their son Benjamin S. Seatle (1864-1881) died at the age of 16 in Newport. Clara's husband Charles died in 1925 and she herself died in 1926, leaving only surviving child Augusta R. (Seatle) Ailman. Two years after Clara's death, her daughter Augusta died in 1928.
