Mrs. Johnson, a resident of Columbus for the past eight years, died shortly after noon Friday at St. Mary's hospital, following a lingering illness. She had been hospitalized for the past three weeks. Nee Clare Elizabeth Planck, Mrs. Johnson was born Oct. 11, 1894 at Blair, the daughter of William E. and Augusta Krafft Planck. She attended schools in Blair, and taught for five years in that community. Her marriage to Vivian Martin Johnson took place June 2, 1917 in Fremont, and they made their home in Grand Island until 1942 when they moved to Columbus. Mr. Johnson preceded her in death on May 4, 1949. She was a member of the Presbyterian church and Chapter CH of P.E.O. and was affiliated with Andrew Chapter 21, Order of Eastern Star, at Grand Island for the past 26 years. Survivors are: her daughter, Mrs. Jack Schultz and one granddaughter Susan Schultz of Columbus; her father, William E. Planck of Fremont; three sisters, Mrs. J. Guy Edloff and Mrs. Harry Cockson of Fremont, and Mrs. Ben Simons of Chicago; two brothers, R.E. Planck and Walter Planck, also of Fremont. Besides her husband, Mrs. Johnson was preceded in death by her mother who died May 28 of this year.
