Read More	Published in The Skagit Valley Herald, Mount Vernon, WA January 16, 2018 July 14, 1934 -December 18, 2017 Clare Jo Blouin, 83 passed away peacefully at home on December 18, 2017 in Grants Pass, OR.She was born on July 14, 1934 in Holtville, CA to Earl and Cleo Edwards.After a few years living in the San Joaquin Valley, she and her mother moved to Skagit Valley, WA, settling in Big Lake and attending Sedro-Woolley schools.Clare married Darrell Blouin on July 15, 1950 in Burlington where they made their home.In 1963 they purchased the Idle Hour Tavern and later the Corner Tavern. She loved her "cowboy music" customers, friends and had a very quick wit!Clare managed Gene's Tavern after selling their businesses and became a Relator working for Century 21 and Brown & McMillen, before returning to manage the LA Conner Tavern until retiring.In 2010 she moved to Grants Pass, OR, to live with her daughters. Clare loved water skiing, bowling, bingo, crocheting, playing cards, hunting, camping and watching her boys sporting events. She cherished her time playing with her grandchildren and great- grandchildren.Clare is survived by her daughters, Dawn Blouin-Trout, JoElla McFarland of Grants Pass, OR and her sons Les Blouin and wife Colleen of Sedro- Woolley and Stacey Blouin of Lyman, niece Melanie Wood and nephew Mahlon Edwards Jr. and 5 grandchildren, Brooke, George, Sydney, Braden and Bryson and 3 great-grandsons and numerous Blouin family members .She is preceded in death by her husband Darrell, parents; Earl and Cleo, brother, Mahlon and wife Cookie Edwards, their daughter Gail Edwards, son-in-law, Hap Trout, daughter-in-law Kelli Blouin and Clare's special friend Dave Archer. On Sunday January 21st, a Celebration of Life will be held at the Burlington Eagles - 119 N. Cherry Street, from 1-3 pm., Larry Gilbert officiating.Please come and enjoy fellowship, memories and love for Clare. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Heart Association.
