She died at the Taylor County Hospital on Thursday, January 2. She had been a patient at the hospital for the past three weeks. Mrs. Perkins was a long time resident of the Mt. Read More	The News-Journal, January 9, 1969 Mrs. Clara Pike Perkins, 82, of 123 Wickliffe Avenue in Campbellsville, daughter of the late Mr. John Robert Pike and Mrs. Sophie Page Pike, was born in Taylor County, October 13, 1886. She died at the Taylor County Hospital on Thursday, January 2. She had been a patient at the hospital for the past three weeks. Mrs. Perkins was a long time resident of the Mt. Carmel Community in Adair County before moving to Campbellsville six years ago. She professed faith in Christ early in life and was a member of the Green River Memorial Baptist Church. She united in marriage to Mr. Thomas M. Perkins, December 29, 1903. He preceded her in death, August 16, 1936. To this union one daughter and two sons were born. The two sons died in infancy. Surviving is Mrs. Nancy Dickens of Campbellsville. Besides her daughter, she is survived by one grandson, Paul Dickens of Pleasure Ridge Park, Kentucky; two great-grandchildren; three brothers and three sisters: Bryan Pike of Coburg; Mrs. Millie Keen and Mrs. Ethel Hurt, both of Columbia; Mrs. Mattie Gilpin and Johnnie Pike, both of Louisville; and Bob Pike of Grant Park, Illinois; also two half-brothers and two half-sisters: Stanley Pike and Mrs. Eva Hayes, both of Campbellsville; Oscar Pike of Louisville; and Mrs. Marie Jones of Chrisview, Florida. Funeral services were held Saturday, January 4th in the Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home with the Rev. J. D. Campbell officiating. Burial was in Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Adair County. Pallbearers were Gilbert, Debbs, Melvin and Howard Pike, Johnnie Page, and Rufus Smith.
