Read More	His obituary reads: Clarence Albert McCallum was born Nov. 1, 1923 to David and Lillie (Petit) McCallum at Brewster, Neb. He lived with his parents until the time of his mother's death in Feb. 1934. His father tried to raise the children, but was unable to do so. Clarence and his brother, Oscar, went to live with their grandparents, Bert and Ida Petet, and his two sisters went to live with an uncle and aunt, Charlie and Bertha Coday. As they got older, the children went back and lived with their father until they were on their own. When Clarence was about seven years old, the family moved to Anselmo, the to the Merna area in 1960. He attended Anselmo school through the eighth grade. Clarence enjoyed fishing and hunting while he was able. He also like playing cards with family and friends. In January of 2003, Clarence moved to Sandhills Manor Nursing Home in Broken Bow. Clarence is survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Alice and Bud Crooker of Ainsworth, special cousin, Mark Kauk of Broken Bow; aunts, Martha Sickler, Emma Porath and Elva McCullough, and uncle, Ervin Petit. Preceding him in death were his parents; two sisters, Mae and Thelma; a brother, Oscar; and three nephews. Funeral services were held Friday, Oct 24, 2003 at Grovier Brothers Chapel, with Rev. Henry Duerksen officiating. Burial was in the Moulton Cemetery in Loup County. Grovier Brothers Mortuary was in charge of arrangements.
