Description	:	The Nelson Gazette (Nelson, NE), Thursday, April 16, 1896; pg. 3 Clarence Burton Campbell. Born October 6th, 1868, in Clark (sic) county (sic), Iowa; died April 7th, 1896, of Bronchitis, at the home of his father in Nelson. The deceased came with his parents, J.M. and Alice Campbell, to Nuckolls county (sic) September, 1871, settling five miles north east of Nelson in the Ox Bow neighborhood, where he lived until the spring of 1885. Born October 6th, 1868, in Clark (sic) county (sic), Iowa; died April 7th, 1896, of Bronchitis, at the home of his father in Nelson. The deceased came with his parents, J.M. and Alice Campbell, to Nuckolls county (sic) September, 1871, settling five miles north east of Nelson in the Ox Bow neighborhood, where he lived until the spring of 1885. Previous to this he attended the Edgar High School three winters. During this time, in 1884, he united with the Baptist church. About this time he began the battle of life, working at the lumber business, after which he engaged in the real estate and loan business with his father in Nelson In June, 1889, he went to Lincoln where he continued in the same business. In 1893 he was appointed receiver of the State Bank of Wahoo which place he filled with credit. In September, 1895, he became an active member of the Y.M.C.A. at Lincoln. In politics he was an ardent republican, and was secretary of the Young Men's Republican Club of Lincoln during 1892. His acquaintance was quite extensive throughout the state, and he was well liked by all who knew him both politically and socially. On account of failing health, he went to the mountains of Colorado during the summer of 1895. Just as he was getting ready to return, he caught a severe cold, from which he never recovered.
