Description	:	Clarence Christian Johnson, son of Christian and Elsa Johnson, was born in Fairview township, Shelby county, Iowa on July 10, 1884 and following an illness of some months, died at the Myrtue Memorial hospital January 11, 1955 at the age of 70 years, 6 months and 1 day. September 16, 1908 he was united in marriage to Isabel Dahlof. This union was broken by her death February 3, 1920. Read More	Clarence Christian Johnson, son of Christian and Elsa Johnson, was born in Fairview township, Shelby county, Iowa on July 10, 1884 and following an illness of some months, died at the Myrtue Memorial hospital January 11, 1955 at the age of 70 years, 6 months and 1 day. September 16, 1908 he was united in marriage to Isabel Dahlof. This union was broken by her death February 3, 1920. February 16, 1921, he was married to Gladys Davis and after twelve years, this union was also broken by death June 29, 1933. His third and last marriage was to Ida Lee, April 25, 1942. After 12 years together at the farm home, this sacred bond has for the last time been broken. At the age of thirty years, Mr Johnson obeyed the gospel of Christ uniting with the local Church of Christ in Harlan in 1914. His earnestness and interest in the church gamed the confidence and good standing that called him to serve as one of the deacons of the church since his appointment in 1931. Most of his life has been spent in general farming and livestock raising and since his last marriage he has resided in the quiet, peaceful neighborhood of Cuppy's Grove where the high ideals of rural life are manifest in helpfulness to one another. He is survived by his wife, one adopted son, Lavern L. of Omaha, Nebraska; one granddaughter, Janel; two brothers, Elmer of Omaha, Nebraska, Carl, of Riverside, California, one sister, Mrs Martha Jorgensen of Omaha, Nebraska; several nephews and nieces with many other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held at the Pauley Funeral home at 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 14, 1955. Bro. Horace Hinds officiating. Singers were Mr and Mrs Merle hall, James Willis and Mrs Lavonne Kauffman. Pallbearers were Ivan Lee, James White, Leland Grann, Harold Stearns, Raymond Barton and Glen Henerson. Burial was in the Harlan cemetery. The Harlan News Advertiser Harlan, Iowa January 25 ,1955
