Description	:	Mr. Clarence De Vos, age 76, of Hull, passed away Monday, August 29, at Hegg Memorial Hospital in Rock Valley, after a short illness. Clarence was born February 12, 1907, in Goudsward, The Netherlands, the son of Cornelius De Vos and Neeltje Van Bochove De Vos. He came to this country as a teenager. Read More	Mr. Clarence De Vos, age 76, of Hull, passed away Monday, August 29, at Hegg Memorial Hospital in Rock Valley, after a short illness. Clarence was born February 12, 1907, in Goudsward, The Netherlands, the son of Cornelius De Vos and Neeltje Van Bochove De Vos. He came to this country as a teenager. On December 30, 1930, he married Johanna W. Kleene, near Hull. They farmed southwest of Sioux Center until 1943, when they moved to farm north of Hull. In 1963, they moved into Hull, where Clarence was employed by Van Engen Meat Market. Since 1978, he has been a part-time custodian for Boyden-Hull Community School. Mr. De Vos was a member of the First Reformed Church of Hull and the Senior Citizens. Survivors include his wife; son, Cornie of Jenison, Michigan; four daughters, Mrs, Ted (Elizabeth) Brunsting and Mrs. Joe (Nervina) Bomgaars, both of Hull; Mrs. Andrew (Wilmina) Oostra of Rock Valley; and Mrs. John S. (Clarice) Kooima of Hull; 20 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren; and five brothers and sisters, William C. of Sioux Center; Mrs. Henry (Lena) Keunen of Orange Chy; Comic of Sioux Center; Tunis of Hudsonville, Michigan; and Mrs. Lewis (Anna) Wynia of Rock Rapids. Clarence was proceeded in death by his brother, Joe, and infant sister, Lena. Funeral services were held Thursday, September 1, at the first Reformed Church, with the Rev. Gerald Vander Velde officiating. Burial followed at Hope Cemetery in Hull, under the direction of the Kraai-Oolman Funeral Home of Hull. Rock Valley Bee 1983-09-07.
