Description	:	Clarence "Shorty" Stroschein, 85, of Estelline, passed away Thursday, June 28, 2012 at Estelline Care Center, in Estelline. Funeral services will be 11:00am Monday, July 2, 2012 at United Church of Christ in Estelline. Visitation will be from 5:00pm to 7:00pm Sunday, at Geise Funeral Home in Estelline. Clarence E. Read More	Clarence "Shorty" Stroschein, 85, of Estelline, passed away Thursday, June 28, 2012 at Estelline Care Center, in Estelline. Stroschein was born the February 2, 1927 in Deuel County, SD the son of Ernest and Clara (Timm) Stroschein, their youngest of seven children. He received his education in rural school in Deuel County. He served in the United States Army from 1950 to 1952, during the Korean Conflict. After serving in the military, he returned to South Dakota and farmed in Deuel County. He was united in marriage to Shirley M. Branson in February 15, 1958, in Estelline. After their marriage they continued to farm. Shirley died on October 22, 1997 in Sioux Falls, SD. Farming and cattle was Shorty's life and along with that came John Deere. He dearly loved his only granddaughter Chrissy and his great grandchildren. He enjoyed going down town for coffee and shaking dice. He was a big follower of the Minnesota Twins. He was a member of the United Church of Christ in Estelline and the American Legion. He is survived by his son, Kevin Stroschein, of Sioux Falls, SD; his daughter, Kathy (Richard) Anderson of Garretson, SD; his granddaughter, Christina (Jason Hai) Stroschein, of Volga, SD; four step grandchildren, Loren, Mark, Jeff and Sarah; four great grandchildren, Hunter Clarence, Shelby Mae, Kobe and Shawn; one sister, Ethel Propst, of Goodwin, SD; two brothers, Marvin (Beverly) Stroschein, of Clear Lake, SD and Vernon (Shirley) Stroschein, of Estelline; three sisters-in-law, Elaine Stroschein, of Clear Lake, SD, Oriska Stroschein, of Estelline, SD and Loraine (Claire) Darger, of Sioux Falls, SD; two brothers-in-law, Charlie (Dorothy) Branson, of Sioux Falls, SD and Danny Branson, of Sioux Falls, SD and many nieces and nephews. He was proceded in death by his parents, his wife, three brothers, Earl, Leon and Ellis and one step grandchild, Jon.
