Description	:	Son of Euevold Holt & Marinda Holt Husband of Matilda Caroline Odett (of VT) ---------- Clarence Ennevoldson Holt was born December 11, 1851, at Skadborg, Denmark and left his native land March 3, 1872, arriving in New York on March 24, taking up his residence at Chases Lake, N.Y. On January 31, 1874, at Trenton, N.Y. he was united in marriage to Miss Matilda Caroline Odett. Read More	Son of Euevold Holt & Marinda Holt Husband of Matilda Caroline Odett (of VT) ---------- Clarence Ennevoldson Holt was born December 11, 1851, at Skadborg, Denmark and left his native land March 3, 1872, arriving in New York on March 24, taking up his residence at Chases Lake, N.Y. On January 31, 1874, at Trenton, N.Y. he was united in marriage to Miss Matilda Caroline Odett. To them were born seven children, one daughter, Mrs. James (Caroline) Darlow having preceeded her father in death. The other children are: Mrs. O. J. Little of Stone Lake, Wisc., Clarence Jr. of Minneapolis, "Dude" of Van Hook, N.D., Mrs. C.G. Root of Rapid City, S.D., and Oliver of Mountain View, Calif. Mr. Holt came to Iowa in 1874, locating at Clinton where he remained for about one and one-half years. He then moved to Alden, Hardin county, where he lived for twenty years before coming to Dickinson county in 1896, where he has since resided with the exception of about two years spent in Canada. Besides the above mentioned children, Mr. Holt will be missed by his devoted wife who has labored and loved with him through fifty-two years of married life. Eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren also survive. Mr. Holt was raised and confirmed in the Lutheran Church in Denmark, later uniting with the Presbyterian church from which with that of his wife, his membership was transfered to the Methodist Church in 1916. Through his thirty years of residence in Dickinson county, Mr Holt has become generally known and respected as a man of uprightness and integrity. Funeral services conducted by Rev. J. H. Edge were held from the Methodist church Tuseday afternoon and interment made in Lakeview Cemetery. *The Spirit Lake Beacon 4-22-1926 -----------
