Description	:	Clarence F. Bourassa, 76, of Savage, formerly of Crane, died at his home, Tuesday morning, Feb. 13, 1996. Funeral services were held Feb. 16 at the First congregational church at Savage. Burial, with military honors provided by V.F.W. Post #4099 of Sidney, was at the Riverview Cemetery at Savage. Bourassa, 76, of Savage, formerly of Crane, died at his home, Tuesday morning, Feb. 13, 1996. Funeral services were held Feb. 16 at the First congregational church at Savage. Clarence was born Jan 31 1920, in Whitetail, Mt., the son of Joseph and Ida(McArthur)Bourassa. He grew up and attended schools in Whitetail. After school, Clarence helped on the family farm until he joined the CC Camps and worked in Kalispell. Clarence married Margaret DeMangelaere in Flaxville on Oct. 23, 1939. They made their home in Whitetail where Clarence drove school bus. In 1942, they moved to Spokane, Wash., and returned to Whitetail in 1943. He entered the U.S. Army on Feb 16, 1945 and was honorably discharged on July 22, 1946, and returned to Whitetail. They returned to Spokane in 1958 and in 1962 they moved to Crane where Clarence operated the Crane Market and worked at the Crane Post Office. On Jan 31 1963, Clarence was appointed postmaster. His wife, Margaret died March 9, 1986, and Clarence continued to live in Crane. He retired as postmaster in May 1987. On Aug 16, 1987, he married Alice Hagler in Savage, where they had lived since. Clarence was a member of Savage Senior Citizens, American Legion Post of Sidney and V.F.W. Post #4009 of Sidney. He attended the First Congregational Church of Savage. He enjoyed his yard, traveling and playing cards. He is survived by his wife, Alice of Savage; a son, Ronald Bourassa of Springdale, Wash., a daughter, Marilyn Olson of Livingston; two stepsons and their wives, Donald and Joanne Hagler and Leland and Barb Hagler, all of Savage; a stepdaugher and her husband, Kay and Harvey Hamburg of Savage; 13 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, 1st wife, 3 brothers and 1 sister.
