Description	:	From "The History of Lincoln County South Dakota" "Clarence Howard Oliver was born Aug 3, 1876. on the farm where his parents homesteaded in 1869, three and one-half miles west and a mile south of Canton. He attended the Kerley School and grew to manhood on the family farm. On Oct 2 1901 he married Julia Ellen Ferguson, who was born at Assumption, Ill., April 1, 1878, and had moved with her parents to a farm east of Worthing when just a child. Read More	From "The History of Lincoln County South Dakota" "Clarence Howard Oliver was born Aug 3, 1876. on the farm where his parents homesteaded in 1869, three and one-half miles west and a mile south of Canton. He attended the Kerley School and grew to manhood on the family farm. On Oct 2 1901 he married Julia Ellen Ferguson, who was born at Assumption, Ill., April 1, 1878, and had moved with her parents to a farm east of Worthing when just a child. Clarence and Julia farmed the homestead until 1913 and then moved to the vicinity of Mott, ND, where Julia's brother and his family lived, and farmed in that area until the spring of 1919 when they returned to Lincoln County. In 1922 they moved to the Oliver homestead and lived there until 1942 at which time they retired to Canton. Clarence continued to help with farming, and was active until February. 9, 1958 when he suffered a stroke and died. Julia was an invalid for many years and died May 20, 1963. They had celebrated their golden wedding in September of 1951. Both are buried in Forest Hills Cemetery". Clarence, Julia, & family moved to North Dakota February 1913 and remained until May 1919. They lived in a sod house part of that time
