Description	:	GRANT -- Clarence "Andy" Anderson, 76, died Wednesday (April 2, 2008) in an automobile accident near Grant. He was born Sept. 1, 1931, at Windom, Minn., to Arthur H. and Petra C. (Valen) Anderson. He moved with his family to Sioux City, Iowa, where he attended school, graduating from East High School in 1949. On Nov. 28, 1950, he enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps, serving during the Korean conflict. He was discharged in November of 1953 and returned to the Sioux City area. Read More	GRANT -- Clarence "Andy" Anderson, 76, died Wednesday (April 2, 2008) in an automobile accident near Grant. He was born Sept. 1, 1931, at Windom, Minn., to Arthur H. and Petra C. (Valen) Anderson. He moved with his family to Sioux City, Iowa, where he attended school, graduating from East High School in 1949. On Nov. 28, 1950, he enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps, serving during the Korean conflict. He was discharged in November of 1953 and returned to the Sioux City area. On Nov. 14, 1954, he married Janice Elaine Schuler at Laurel, Neb., and the couple settled in Sioux City. They also briefly lived in Gothenburg before moving to Imperial in 1961. He managed the Farmer's Lumber Yard there for many years. He also worked as a U.S. Postal Service Rural carrier. He was a former member of the Imperial Chamber of Commerce, and was a member of the Lions Club and the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Imperial. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Phyllis Cavlson; two sons, Brian and William "Bill" Anderson; and twin grandchildren, Melanie and Cory Weiss. Survivors include his wife, Janice of Imperial; sons, Mike Anderson and wife, Julie of Cheyenne, Wyo., David Anderson of Brighton, Colo., Scott Anderson and wife, Lisa of the Island of Hawaii, Bryce Anderson and wife, Vicki of Grant, Tom Anderson of Madrid, and Eric Anderson and wife, Ronny of Island of Hawaii; daughters, Carol Harchelroad and husband, Sid of Enders, Cindy Styskal and husband, Doug of Denver, Colo., Phyllis Parker and husband, Scott of Alexandria, Va., and Melissa Tidwell and husband, Chris of Stillwater, Okla.; brothers, John and wife, Judy and Wayne and wife, Carolyn, all of Sioux City, Iowa; 24 grandchildren; and 9 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be Saturday, 3 p.m., (MT) at First United Methodist Church of Imperial with the Rev. Kay Alnor officiating. Interment will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery at Imperial. Memorials may be given in his name Liewer Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
