Death was due to natural causes. Funeral services were held Wed., Sept. 24, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Dodge, with Rev. Dale Nabben officiating. Clarence Jens Jacobsen was born Dec. 26, 1910 at rural Golden Valley to Jens and Sophie (Dientsman) Jacobsen. He grew up on his parent's farm north of Golden Valley and attended rural school. He married Hilda Goetz on Nov. 20, 1941 at the Golgotha Lutheran Church at Golden Valley. They lived in Golden Valley where he farmed and ranched in the area and during the winter months worked at the Kamins Coal Mine at Zap and also at the Haynes Coal Mine at Haynes. In 1946 they moved to a farm east of Dodge, then in 1949 they moved to their present farm west of Golden Valley. He had farmed and ranched in the Golden Valley-Dodge area fro many years and was active until his death. He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church at Dodge and had held various church offices. He had also served as sexton for the Spring Creek Cemetery for many years. Survivors include wife Hilda of rural Golden Valley; on daughter Clarice; and one son, Clarion; three grandchildren; one brother, Leslie; three sisters, Helen, Marion and Verna.
