Description	:	Clarence Nerge, the son of John and Mary (Stolte) Nerge, was born in the Pinhook area of Bremer County, Iowa on October 15, 1915. He was baptized December 5, 1915 at St. John Lutheran Church (Spring Fountain), rural sumner, Iowa, and confirmed September 3, 1939 at St. Paul's Lutheran church in Sumner. Clarence was united in marriage with Doris Louise Wilhelms on april 19, 1937 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in New Hampton, Iowa. He was baptized December 5, 1915 at St. John Lutheran Church (Spring Fountain), rural sumner, Iowa, and confirmed September 3, 1939 at St. Paul's Lutheran church in Sumner. Clarence was united in marriage with Doris Louise Wilhelms on april 19, 1937 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in New Hampton, Iowa. Doris preceeded him in death on June 30, 2003. clarence worked as a tool and die machinist at Terex in Waverly, Iowa for many years, retiring in October of 1982. Clarence's death occurred Wednesday, June 27, 2007 at Allen Memorial Hospital in Waterloo, Iowa from natural causes. He was ninety one years old. clarence was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Tripoli and the Grace Lutheran Brotherhood. He was also a member of the U.A.W. #411 and the Wapsie Sportsmen's Club in Tripoli. For many years, at the Annual Sprotsmen's Club Fish Fry, Clarence was in charge of making the coleslaw, with a "secret ingredient", clarence had the first rototiller in Tripoli and he used to till gardens all over town. He still has thar same rototiller. He loved to fish, golf, garden, and play cards. Clarence is survived by two daughters, Betty Lou Haverkamp of Tripoli, Iowa; and Olga Clara "Trudy" (Leander) Harral of Des Moines, Iowa; six grandchildren; and twelve great grandchildren. Clarence was preceded in death by his wife, doris; one daughter, Jaqueline Fern Davis, who died in 1983; his parents; one sister, Clara Hunemueller; four brothers, Johnnie, Albert and Edwin Nerge, and Hnery Nerge, who died in infancy; and one son-in-law, Harold Haverkamp.
