Shears, 64, of 945 Sheldon Ave., Kingsville, died at 10 p.m. Saturday (12 Oct 1957) in Ashtabula General Hospital where he had been admitted earlier in the day. Death was due to complications. Mr. Shears was born Dec. 29, 1892 in Ashtabula Township, the son of Webb and Ruby Shears. He had been a resident of this area his entire life and was employed as assistant foreman in the Nickel Plate Maintenance of way department. A member of Brotherhood of maintenance of Railway Employees he attended First Baptist Church of Kingsville. He is survived by his wife, Alice Ruth, three sons, Gordon and Donald of Kingsville and Leslie of Jefferson; a daughter, Mrs. Glen (Alice) Wilder of St. Paul, Minn., and a brother, Clyde Shears of Ashtabula. Mr. Shears was preceded in death by a son, Harold, in 1949 and a brother, Ray in 1945. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Thompson Funeral Home with burial in East Lake Cemetery, North Kingsville. Friends may call at funeral home after 3 p.m. Tuesday.
