He was born January 18, 1925, in Ottumwa to Jesse L. and Agnes Hartley Jacquinot. He married Betty Maxine Hoover on August 24, 1946. She preceded him in death on April 12, 1997. He was born January 18, 1925, in Ottumwa to Jesse L. and Agnes Hartley Jacquinot. He married Betty Maxine Hoover on August 24, 1946. She preceded him in death on April 12, 1997. A World War II veteran of the U.S. Army, he worked for 38 years for the Burlington Northern Railroad, retiring in 1988. He was a member of O.B. Nelson Post #3 American Legion and Walter B. Schafer Post #775 Veterans of Foreign Wars. He coached baseball and softball for 50 years. His favorite saying was “Relax, concentrate and follow through.” He had a zest for life. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Adam Clark; a brother, Jesse Jacquinot; three sisters, Mabel Grimes, Sylvia Umphress and Maggie Landry. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Reece Funeral Home. Military services will be conducted by O.B. Nelson Post #3 American Legion and Walter B. Schafer Post #775 Veterans of Foreign Wars. Cremation will follow the services.
