Description	:	Clarence Robert "Pete" Burdette, age 87, of Woodbridge died on Thursday, July 28, at Potomac Hospital. Mr. Burdette was born and raised in the Woodbridge area and lived for 87 years where he was the youngest of nine children. He was married to Anne T. (Moran) Burdette from Richmond. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II where he fought at the "Battle of the Bulge" and Ardennes where he was injured and received a Purple Heart. He retired from the Lorton Prison after 28 years. He then worked for Signet Bank as a painter for 29 years.... Read More	Clarence Robert "Pete" Burdette, age 87, of Woodbridge died on Thursday, July 28, at Potomac Hospital. Mr. Burdette was born and raised in the Woodbridge area and lived for 87 years where he was the youngest of nine children. He was married to Anne T. (Moran) Burdette from Richmond. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II where he fought at the "Battle of the Bulge" and Ardennes where he was injured and received a Purple Heart. He retired from the Lorton Prison after 28 years. He then worked for Signet Bank as a painter for 29 years. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Moose. He was a devoted husband, loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather and great-great-grandfather. He was an avid boater. Mr. Burdette was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 54 years, Anne T. Burdette; his son, Robert "Bobby" Burdette; his grandson, Jeffrey Carroll Burdette. He was also preceded in death by his parents, William and Florence Burdette; his brothers, Carlton, William, Percy and Harry Burdette; his sisters, Pearl Gorham, Ruth Mitchell, Florence Simpson and Elizabeth Sullivan. He is survived by his daughter, Brenda Morcom and her husband Tommy of Dumfries; five grandchildren, Pam Mitchell, Terry Pendergraph, Todd Burdette, Tracie Campbell and Shane Morcom, nine great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, Aug. 2 from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 7 to 9 p.m. at Mountcastle Funeral Home, 13318 Occoquan Road, Woodbridge. Funeral services will take place on Wednesday, Aug. 3 at 10 a.m. at Mountcastle Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Fairfax Memorial Park.
