Description	:	Clarence Rudoph Nelson was born March 16, 1912 near Wayne, the son of Hans Peter and Anna Jorgensen Nelson. He was baptized in the Lutheran Church at Wisner and confirmed in The Lutheran Church at Pilger. He spent his boyhood and young manhood near Wayne. Mr. Nelson served in the U.S. Air Force from May 1942 until 1945. After completing military service, he engaged in farming near Carroll. He was baptized in the Lutheran Church at Wisner and confirmed in The Lutheran Church at Pilger. He spent his boyhood and young manhood near Wayne. Mr. Nelson served in the U.S. Air Force from May 1942 until 1945. After completing military service, he engaged in farming near Carroll. He was united in marriage to Miss Vera Nygaard at Blair, April 5, 1946. To this union three sons were born. While living at Carroll, he was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church near Winside. In 1948, the Nelsons moved to their own farm northeast of Creighton, near Bazile Mills, where he resided until his death Sunday morning, Oct. 13, as the result of a heart attack. He was 45 years old. He was a member of Bethesda Lutheran Church and served on the church council for three years, plus being president of the congregation at the time of his death. Surviving are his widow and sons, Curtis Paul, and Randall Mark and Lloyd; his father, Hans Nelson of Winside; three sisters and one brother, Helga (Ralph) Hinnrichs of Laurel, Vermond Nelson of Winside, Ruby (Elmer) Pestel of Pilger and Mildred (Orval) Harrison of Carroll; his grandmother, Mrs. Peter Jorgensen. Funeral services were conducted Wednesday of this week at the Bethesda Lutheran Church, Winnetoon at 2 p.m. The Rev. Adolph Lillich officiated. Burial was in Greenwood Cemetery. Pallbearers were Arlie Sorensen, Oliver Mathiasen, Hans Bonnesen, Virgil Mathine, George Nielsen and Julius Waechter.
