Clarence was born March 26, 1915 in rural Scribner, Nebraska to Otto and Amelia "Mollie" (Holtman) Schultz. He grew up in the Scribner, North Bend and Hooper areas. Read More	************************************************************ Clarence T. Schultz, 98 years, of Fremont, Nebraska died Wednesday, December 25, 2013 at Fremont Area Medical Center in Fremont. Clarence was born March 26, 1915 in rural Scribner, Nebraska to Otto and Amelia "Mollie" (Holtman) Schultz. He grew up in the Scribner, North Bend and Hooper areas. He served in the Civilian Conservation Corp and moved to Fremont in 1940. Clarence married Elvira T. Muller July 21, 1941 in Fremont. She died Nov. 7, 2007. He served in the United States Army during World War II from April 1, 1943 to October 29, 1945 and fought in the D Day Landing on Omaha Beach and the Battle of the Bulge. Clarence worked as a mechanic at an auto dealership, then for Gambles and later for Froid Implement and then Platte Valley Farm Equipment. Clarence retired in 1985. Clarence was a member of Salem Lutheran Church in Fremont and a life member of V.F.W. Post #854 and also a member of American Legion #20 in Fremont. He is survived by his son, Gene Schultz of Fremont; brothers, Harry and wife, Lorinda Schultz and LeRoy Schultz of White Salmon, Washington; sister, Rose Bilava of Fremont; brother-in-law, Marlin Metschke of Fremont. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Bill, Albert, and Earl Schultz; sisters, Norma Metschke and Ida Tank; sister-in-law, Leona Schultz and Irene Schultz. Funeral service, 10:30 A.M., Tuesday, December 31, 2013 at Salem Lutheran Church in Fremont. The Rev. Michael Thomas will officiate. Visitation on Monday, December 30, 2013 at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont from 2PM to 8PM with family receiving friends from 6:30 PM to 8:00 pm. Visitation will continue one hour prior to service at the church. Burial will be at Ridge Cemetery in Fremont with military honors conducted by the Fremont Honor Guard of V.F.W. Post #854 and American Legion Post #20. Memorials may be directed to Salem Lutheran Church in Fremont. (mosermemorialchapels.com)
