Interment will be in St. Michael's Cemetery with military honors by Parry Post 283 Honor Guard of Platte Center. Visitation will continue on Saturday from 9:30 - 10:30 A.M. also at the church. Clarence was born on April 24, 1930, to Joseph and Veronica (Jarosz) Torczon. He attended St. Michael’s Elementary School in Tarnov and graduated from Platte Center High School in 1949. Clarence enlisted in the U. S. Army and served in Germany and France from May 11, 1951 to April 25, 1953. On Feb. 19, 1984, Clarence married Bonnie Bennett at St. Isidore Catholic Church in Columbus. Clarence farmed with his father, Joe, and brother, Denis, and, later, farmed with his nephew, Gary, up until his death. Over the years, they had a dairy operation and raised livestock and row crops. Clarence loved the farm, and, in his failing health, he would still make frequent trips to the farm to check on things. Clarence was a member of the Honor Guard with the American Legion and served on the Platte Center Town Board. He was a member of St. Michael’s Church in Tarnov, NE. He is survived by his wife, Bonnie, three step-children, Karin Goodwin of Omaha, Larry (Roberta) Bennett of Benicia, California, and Mike Bennett of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, seven step-grandchildren, sister, Joan (Paul) Duesman of Humphrey, brother, Lambert (Barb) Torczon of Columbus, sister-in-law, Lucille Torczon of Columbus, sister-in-law, Lugene Torczon of Humphrey, and many nieces and nephews. Clarence was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Veronica Torczon and brothers LaVerne Torczon and Denis Torczon. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the St. Michael’s Historical Society or the family’s choice.
